Christmas is almost here and if you love thrifting and are still looking for some nice gifts, here is a list of 15 thrifted Christmas gift ideas.
I love thrifting because you can find so many interesting and unique pieces. Plus. the prices vary a lot and thrifting can be suitable for those who are on a budget or those who are willing to spend more money on exclusive items (if you shop vintage and antique).
Tips for thrifting gifts
Great thing about thrifting is that you can thrift online or offline, thrifting is extremely accessible even in the smallest towns. However, I have to say that thrifting is like a lottery and you never know what you will get. So be prepared to spend some time looking for a good gift.
My other tip is to have a list and make sure not to overwhelm yourself too much. Even if you have a vague list it’s already great. Because of the usually low prices at thrift stores, it is very easy to get carried away and buy too many things that you don’t even need. So make sure, before you check out, to go through all the items and actually ask yourself “will it be a good gift?” or “do they actually need/like it?”.
My last tip is to create kits from the items you find. Of course, if you are planning to gift an antique item, that’s quite different. But if you shop at the thrift store, it’s very easy to assemble a kit for a person who will receive a gift. I will talk about it further. But you can get a few smaller items and put them in a thrifted basket or a box, there are always plenty of them at the thrift store. Here are some ideas for a thrifted Christmas kit:
- Book lover kit: books, book stoppers, something that reminds of a favorite book
- Kitchen kit: a glass, a plate, a mug, a table runner, spoons, etc.
- Home kit: candle holders, art, small trinkets fro decor
- Artist kit: art book, art paper, craft supplies
I also started a Tumblr page where I post thrifted items I find at different stores. Check it out, maybe you’ll get some inspiration.
