The fall is slowly coming to North Carolina and today I want to share with you my list of cozy fall activities in Raleigh – “12 things to do in Raleigh this October”.
Those are easy things for those who live a slow life and if you’re a fan of Dark Academia and colder seasons then this list is definitely for you.
12 things to do in Raleigh this October
- Visit a festival at Dorothea Dix Park called Falling for Local on 10/05/2024.
- Visit Hemlock Bluffs preserve and try to find various types of mushrooms (Use Picture This or iNaturalist to identify them).
- Get a vegan Pumpkin spice latte at Purr Cup Cafe.
- Go on an early morning stroll at the Historic Oakwood Cemetery.
- Visit Historic Oakwood (neighborhood) on Halloween. Visit the infamous house on 504 Oakwood Ave, Raleigh, NC 27601
- Go to the Pumpkin Patch. In Raleigh, there are many options. Our favorite place to go is Page Farms. It’s a very cute farm with animals, hay rides, and more.
- Have a picnic at Umstead. Autumn picnics are honestly the best!
- Go on a full moon walk at the NCMA park on 10/15/2024.
- Watch Sunset at Dix Park, take a blanket and a warm cup of tea.
- Walk around the NC State campus near Hillsborough street, it gives a Dark Academia vibes and on Sundays, it can be so peaceful and quiet out there.
- Visit the State Fair, it starts on 10/17/2024.
- Visit the Farmer’s market. It’s always fun there in the fall. Get a cup of coffee and enjoy local produce.
I hope this little list gives you some inspiration and new places to visit! I personally love fall in North Carolina. There is always something to do, events to attend, preserves, and parks to explore.
