This is my new monthly blog post where I share my favorites – things, events, food, books, and movies. I have quite a few December favorites, so I hope you will be able to find something new for yourself.
My December Favorites
1| Sequence. I got very obsessed with the board game Sequence back in the summer, so we got our own board game. Unfortunately, my husband doesn’t want to play it with me 10 times a day every day, so I found the Sequence app game where you can play with real people online. It is a lot of fun and really addictive. I also love this game because it is quite strategic and requires your brain to think and work.
The game we got is a smaller size, I wish we’d got a bigger board because sometimes it’s hard to see the other side of the board. I would definitely recommend it, especially if you like logic games.
2| Detectorists. This is a show about metal detectors or detectorists as they call themselves. The location is a fictional Denebery town in Essex. The show is funny and light with a little bit of drama. But if you want to watch something short yet positive, I’d recommend this show a lot. We finished all 3 seasons and a special episode within a week or two, and I am so sad there are no more seasons.
3| Cherry pie. It was my birthday on December 31 and I decided to bake a cherry pie. It was my second pie ever. My first pie was an apple pie for Christmas. I followed this “Vegan Cherry Pie” recipe and let me tell you the pie came out sooo delicious! Omg, I really enjoy baking and I am so happy this pie turned out to be so good. It’s really a great and easy recipe, so I definitely recommend it.
4| Mary Oliver Poetry. A few months ago I started reading Mary Oliver’s poetry and I fell in love. As a fellow nature-lover, those poems are so close to my heart. I laughed and cried while reading these poems, and of course, I highly recommend them for you to read as well.
I read collection of Oliver’s poems in volume one and volume two. Read it outside and it will hit even harder.
5| Singing bowl. I got this singing bowl on Christmas as a Secret Santa gift, and I was so extremely happy. I wanted a singing bowl for a very long time. Finally, it’s in my possession and I’ve been obsessed ever since. I am still working on my singing bowl skills, but the sound is so calming and purifying. I feel like my soul is flying when I use the singing bowl.
6| Divina Olive Bruschetta. I will just say this – if you love olives, you have to try it. If Greek gods were eating something, I know they were eating this delicious bruschetta! You can get it at Harris Teeter and it is on sale quite often.
7| Elf Liquid Glitter Eye Shadow, Disco Queen. I got this eyeshadow at Target and omg I love it so much. It looks very nice when you apply it lightly, almost like water or fairy dust, or snowflakes. It was a perfect eyeshadow for the holiday season and I will keep wearing it throughout spring and summer. When I wear glitters it just makes me feel so much happier.
8| Pacifica Kale Detox Face Wash. Ok, so I like Pacifica’s Acne Defense face wash, it works quite well but I always look for better products. So I decided to try this one and I have to say, this one is so much better! It smells better and makes sure to wash the makeup residue from your face well.
