With the New Year approaching, it is possible you want to bring some changes into your life. Just like me. I love a good lifestyle and mindset switch, so I made a list of 22 new things to do in the New Year if you feel like you need a little lifestyle, mindset, and perspective switch.
You don’t have to do something new or different every day or every week but a monthly switch or a new routine will definitely bring something new and unique into your life. While I love my comfort zone, I also love to explore and learn new things. So hopefully this list will help you to find a new hobby or just make your daily life a little bit more interesting.
So before you scroll further, I wanted to remind you that I made a few notebooks through Amazon KDP. You can check them out down below, I designed them myself and truly love them. As a notebook lover, I also love the quality. Check them out ↓↓
22 Things to do in the New Year
1| Make a list of the local coffee shops, bars, and restaurants and visit at least 5 new places in 2023.
2| Create a personal finance plan for yourself and stick to it.
3| Declutter your home.
4| Repair and finish projects you promised to finish last year.
5| Become a tourist in your own city. Explore the little streets, bookstores, old buildings, and parks.
6| Once a month, take yourself on a date to drink some good coffee, to a movie theatre, or so.
7| Buy yourself something you wanted for a long time. Set a budget, of course. It should not be more than a certain amount like $50 or $100, for example.
8| Show more love and respect to people around you. Check on your friends and family regularly.
9| Celebrate yourself and your life every day. It doesn’t mean going out and drinking every single day. Just be grateful and see every day as a gift. Even if you just stay home and have the simplest day, still celebrate it! You’re alive, you have food and a home.
10| Travel to a new place outside of your city. It doesn’t have to be abroad. Just pick any other town, city, state, or historical site, or forest that you never visited, and go there for a day or even a few days to explore.
11| Learn to cook 5 new dishes. Choose from different cuisines.
12| Have you decluttered your home? Now it is time to declutter your contacts, social media, and your environment!
13| Start volunteering. My advice is an animal shelter, it is always rewarding.
14| Challenge yourself. For example, one month without alcohol or coffee, or 30 days of meditation or journaling every day.
15| Create memories. Take more photos and write about your day in a journal. Not for social media or others to see, but for yourself.
16| Take time off from social media and the internet to enjoy your free time and take care of yourself. Do it at least once a month.
17| Create a routine for yourself whether it is a morning, evening, or self-care routine. Make sure you have a routine that inspires you and is almost like a ritual that makes you feel comfortable and at peace with yourself, and the world.
18| Go to a museum you never visited before or haven’t visited in a long time.
19| Donate at least $50 in 2023 to either a few different organizations or one. I’d suggest choosing a local organization. For more ideas read my blog post Giving Tuesday. 6 ways to give back to your community.
20| Learn a new skill or pick up a new hobby. How about crocheting? Or gardening? Or journal making? There are so many amazing hobbies and skills to choose from and in one year you definitely can learn something well with dedication and desire.
21| Spend more time in nature. Nature heals, and helps us to feel grounded and distressed.
22| Read at least 25 books in 2023. Choose a variety of books, make a list and stick to it.
